I’m thrilled to share that a fresh update for Stalker 2 has been released! As per the official notes, this update addresses and rectifies game crashes, shader compilation issues, and memory leaks. The developer, GSC Game World, assures us that these fixes target the most pressing problems based on valuable player feedback.
Briefly, this update addresses various glitches and malfunctions linked to shader compilation. It resolves a memory leak issue in the Rostok area, prevents loss of saves on Xbox, and rectifies UI animations that triggered other crashes. Furthermore, it ensures that long gameplay sessions won’t cause performance drops when players aim and shoot weapons.

According to GSC Game World, fixing the shader compilation crashes proved to be their most challenging issue. They kindly ask players who still encounter these or any other technical difficulties to seek help through their support page. Additionally, they’re excited to announce that a significant update is coming shortly.
Similar to its predecessor, Stalker 2 debuted with numerous bugs, glitches, and technical problems. Despite this, the developers opted against further postponing the game that was initially announced a dozen years ago. The first significant update for Stalker 2 rectified over 1,800 issues and enhanced its NPC AI system. The game, often seen as a symbol of Ukrainian resistance to Russian aggression, caused a stir in Ukraine by crashing its internet upon release. Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl can be played on Xbox Series X and PC, or via Game Pass. It was one of TopMob’s recommendations for the year’s top ten games.
