As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my admiration for the groundbreaking film, “Star Wars: A New Hope“. It’s not just about an arid wasteland, a young hero, laser guns, robots, and a menacing villain who can strike fear without even touching you. It’s an extraordinary journey that transcends time, and Funko seems to agree! In homage to the movie that sparked a galaxy far, far away, Funko has unveiled four exceptional Funko Pops inspired by the original “Star Wars” film. These new additions highlight Luke Skywalker in his Red 5 flight suit, engaged in Jedi lightsaber training onboard the Millennium Falcon, and contemplating the twin suns of Tatooine. The beloved droid R2-D2 is also included, with a Deluxe version modeled after the scene where he delivers Leia’s desperate plea, “Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.
If you’re a dedicated fan of the original Star Wars series, you have the opportunity to pre-order the latest Funko Pops as of today, January 20th, starting from 12pm ET. You can do so on Entertainment Earth and Amazon. These exciting collectibles are expected to arrive in April. For more information about this week’s top Funko Pop releases, just click here.
Is There Any Hope For Skeleton Crew Season 2?
Currently, “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” hasn’t been granted another season yet. But creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford are brimming with ideas should they receive approval. The fact that the series was positively received certainly boosts their chances. If the show were to wrap up after just one season, opting not to leave a cliffhanger would undoubtedly be a smart move. In an interview with Collider, Christopher Ford expresses:
As a movie enthusiast, I’ve always believed in giving audiences a satisfying conclusion rather than leaving them hanging with yet another cliffhanger. Drawing inspiration from timeless pirate serials and adventures like Flash Gordon, we aimed to deliver a shocking “What?!” moment, but one that would still provide closure. We wanted this story to have a beginning, middle, and end, ensuring that the kids finally make it home safely, wrapping up their journey in a way that resonates with viewers.
Although many questions remain unanswered in the series, it’s likely that a second season will delve into these mysteries. As soon as any updates about the show’s future from Disney/Lucasfilm are released, you can count on us to keep you informed here at Comicbook.
