In about a month, there’s an upcoming unveiling of a brand-new Star Wars video game! This exciting project is being developed by the creative minds at Respawn Entertainment and Bit Reactor. The official unveil will happen on April 19th during Star Wars Celebration. As of now, all we’ve been officially told is that it involves turn-based gameplay. In anticipation for the big reveal, some sneak peeks from the game have surfaced online, giving us a little taste of the characters you can control, both as allies and enemies, in this upcoming title. The leaked images suggest that players will be able to command a group consisting of Jedi and Mandalorians, and it appears that Droids will also play a role in the gameplay.
Bit Reactor boasts team members who previously worked on XCOM games, evident in these visuals. Characters resembling Mandalorians take cover to strategize their assaults, and the hit probability is expressed as a percentage. The game’s timeline remains undetermined, but a leaked screenshot mentions “support Bo Katan,” suggesting that she was active during the Clone Wars up until the time of The Mandalorian. This doesn’t significantly narrow down the timeline, but it does hint at the possibility of recognizable characters appearing in the game. Ponds908, a user on Bluesky, shared images from the game, which can be viewed in the post embedded below.

Based on a report from MP1st, these Star Wars visuals were sourced from an artist at Bit Reactor, and appear to have been produced around 2023. Given that the game may have progressed significantly since then, readers should bear in mind that the final version could differ greatly, with numerous aspects potentially altered over the past two years. However, it’s intriguing thus far, and we’re eager to see how the completed project shapes up. At minimum, it seems Respawn and Bit Reactor are aiming to deliver a distinctive Star Wars gaming experience.
It’s quiet on the platforms front, but considering that Respawn’s previous Star Wars games have been available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, it’s likely that this upcoming game will follow suit. Additionally, there’s speculation about a potential Nintendo Switch 2 release due to EA’s plans for the platform. MP1st also hints at the possibility of a title reveal and a release window in the near future. Fingers crossed we get more details soon!
