Starting this week, there’s a new Tera Raid event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, featuring Salamence as the main character! In line with previous events, players get to join in two rounds. The first round is scheduled from April 18th to the 20th, while the second round will occur from April 25th to the 27th. During these periods, you’ll find Salamence appearing in 7 Star Raids, and it will have a Tera type of Flying. Each player can only catch Salamence once, but you can keep attempting the Raids to assist others and gather extra in-game rewards like Tera Shards.
When confronting Salamence during a Flying Tera Raid, it’s advisable to bring along a Pokemon that is either Electric, Ice, or Rock-type. These types of Pokemon can effectively counter Salamence and make the battle easier. As with all Raids, a Salamence caught in this event will bear the Mightiest Mark, enabling players to bestow the title “the Unconquered” upon it when deployed in combat.
For over two decades, Salamence has been cherished by many, initially appearing in the games Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Dragon-type characters are often beloved among Pokemon fans, and Salamence stands out due to its impressive design and striking Shiny version. In the latest games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, a new Paradox Pokemon named Roaring Moon has been introduced, which appears to share some link with Salamence and closely resembles its Mega Evolution form. This connection to Mega Evolution is suggested in Roaring Moon’s Pokedex entry in the game Pokemon Violet.
As a devoted Pokémon enthusiast, I’m genuinely excited about the prospect of delving deeper into those intriguing connections when Pokemon Legends: Z-A drops later this year on both Nintendo Switch and its successor. The Mega Evolution aspect is set to be a significant gameplay element, as we’ll find ourselves revisiting the bustling Lumiose City from Pokemon X and Y. With Salamence already confirmed for the game, I’m hoping Game Freak might seize this opportunity to expand upon the existing lore. In fact, such exploration was quite prevalent in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and that’s something I found incredibly engaging!
Looking forward to the arrival of “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”, one can’t help but wonder how long The Pokemon Company will keep supporting “Pokemon Scarlet and Violet”. These games have been around for over two years now, yet they still receive regular updates such as Mystery Gift distributions and Tera Raid battles. It remains to be seen if this pace will slow down or stop entirely soon, but there’s a chance that it could extend all the way up to the release of the next full Pokemon generation. For now, fans of “Scarlet and Violet” should make the most of the ongoing content while it is available.
