Concerns are rising among fans regarding the possible elimination of one Thunderbolt member, as Taskmaster appears to have been omitted from the most recent preview for the upcoming movie “Thunderbolts“. With around two months left until its release, we can expect more trailers and promotional materials to be unveiled as the premiere approaches. Unlike the Avengers, the Thunderbolts team is described as the counterpart, comprised mainly of super-soldiers and ordinary individuals rather than powerful figures like the Hulk or Thor. So far, Taskmaster, a character associated with Black Widow, has had limited exposure in the footage that’s been released. The recent sneak peek for Thunderbolts seems to suggest that Taskmaster might not make an appearance in the final cut of the film.
Yesterday, we discussed the newly released trailer for Thunderbolts*, suggesting that Sentry might outmatch every Avenger. What we failed to notice was a scene depicting the Thunderbolts inside their new headquarters, the Watchtower (formerly known as the Avengers Tower). Interestingly, Taskmaster, previously shown within the building alongside her teammates, was absent in this scene. It’s uncertain whether this omission was an oversight or if Marvel Studios is playing another trick on its fans. We’ll only know for sure when we finally watch Thunderbolts* in theaters.
In the latest sneak peek for ‘THUNDERBOLTS’, it’s shown that Taskmaster is no longer part of the Watchtower’s setting.

In many trailers from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, scenes don’t always match exactly what happens in the movies when they are released. For instance, consider the films Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. In the case of Avengers: Infinity War, the first trailer concludes with a dramatic scene showing Earth’s Mightiest Heroes marching into battle in Wakanda. However, upon watching the movie, we discover that Hulk was actually hiding within Bruce Banner after an initial defeat at Thanos’ hands – a scene that wasn’t shown in the actual Infinity War film.
In the film “Avengers: Endgame”, a scene from the trailer that was altered in the actual movie release showed the surviving Avengers standing outside at night, gazing upwards. However, the finished version included Pepper Potts, who Marvel Studios may have wanted to keep secret as we were unsure about the fate of those who disappeared after Thanos’ snap.
It’s noteworthy to mention that unlike her Thunderbolts teammates, Taskmaster wasn’t announced as part of the cast for “Avengers: Doomsday” revealed this week. The returning characters include Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Wyatt Russell (John Walker), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Lewis Pullman (Bob), and Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost) for “Avengers: Doomsday”. However, Olga Kurylenko’s name was absent from the list. This strengthens the widely held belief that Taskmaster might meet her end in “Thunderbolts”.
Back in April, Olga Kurylenko posted a sneak peek photo on Instagram from the set of “Thunderbolts.” In this image, she hinted at her comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by showcasing a chair labeled with her character’s name, Antonia Dreykov. Antonia is a skilled assassin who was once brainwashed and is the daughter of General Dreykov from the Red Room (portrayed by Ray Winstone).
