New World Aeternum: Best Bosses to Farm | Gold, Gear, and More

As an old-timer who’s seen the rise and fall of countless adventurers in the world of Norrath, I can confidently say that these bosses are some of the best ways to score some top-tier loot if you’re looking to make a quick buck (or plat, as we used to call it back in the day).

Fundamentally, “New World: Aeternum” remains quite similar to the game I initially played in 2021. Despite a rocky start, Amazon has been making concerted efforts to emphasize more on PVE and individual gameplay experiences over the past couple of years.

In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the best bosses to target at the moment for valuable loot. Regardless of whether you’re a fresh player or one who has returned, this guide will assist you in acquiring equipment to boost your wealth or enhance your crafting efficiency.

Before we dive in, it’s worth mentioning that these battles are usually best tackled with a team. If you’re thinking of taking them on solo, I’d strongly recommend checking out our guide on boosting your gear score to 725 swiftly. It could significantly increase your chances of victory!

Boss #1 – Baines

To start off, there’s Baines, a top-tier boss that can be spotted close to the Perilous Spire in the town of Edengrove. The precise spot is highlighted on the image map provided below. It’s said that this boss respawns every 2 to 4 minutes, and it’s often surrounded by numerous players waiting for its reappearance at the respawn point.

One of its standout items is the Luminous Resin Fragment, a valuable resource that allows you to craft certain legendary Glowing Resins. The value of these fragments varies depending on your server, but one piece can potentially earn you several thousand gold. However, keep in mind that it takes 100 fragments to create a single resin.

Additionally, these items might be among those it randomly selects to drop: for instance, the Seniab fo Dleihs or Ecnelovelam’s Yvne. Moreover, there is a possibility that Baines may also drop the Concocter’s Hat, which comes with the useful Arcanist Expertise attribute.

Boss #2 – Malevolence

To the southeastern part, not far from the last entry, you’ll find another boss named Malevolence in Edengrove. Its spawn point is right south of the Elysian Shrine, which makes it very convenient to fast travel to this spot and join groups that might be gathering there to fight it.

Just like its counterpart, this boss will reappear approximately every 5 minutes following its demise. Prior to its arrival, there are multiple less formidable mobs that must be defeated. This setup allows for an abundance of possible loot drops with each respawn.

Often, this item is known to yield Epic Lifering equipment, but it also has a few legendary named drops up its sleeve. Among these are weapons such as the Judgement of Malevolence hammer and the Promise of Malevolence ice gauntlet, which boast some quite advantageous attributes.

Bosses #3 & #4 – Articulon the Unshackled & Mozrul the Herald

As a gamer, I’ve discovered that two formidable bosses lie hidden in the Great Cleave’s western expanse, not far from the Shrine of the Herald if you head slightly northwest. To summon Articulon, you’ll need to have honed your mining skills well past the 150-mark, as that’s what it takes to crack open the mysterious Orichalcum Vein he’s hiding beneath.

Compared to previous bosses, those in this lower level zone appear to be significantly less powerful.

In contrast, Articulon tends to frequently yield a set of Weaponsmith Pants, while Mozrul has a slight probability of dropping Tanner Pants less often. While these items are useful in most situations, their value can vary across servers and they might be quite valuable on the trading post.

Bosses #5 & #6 – Bralgorn and Sesa

In the same area as before, but at the opposite end, you’ll discover the location of Bralgorn. From the Battleclast Shrine, head up the mountains towards the east direction. As you climb the icy cliffs, you will eventually stumble upon Bralgorn’s spawning spot.

As a seasoned gamer, I’ve found that most of the drops from this named yeti aren’t all that enticing, but there’s one exceptional piece of equipment that truly shines – the elusive Weaponsmith Shoes. These bad boys are a godsend for dedicated career crafters, living up to every bit of expectation.

If you prefer to pass these shoes onto others, there’s a good likelihood that you could earn a substantial amount of money from it since they tend to be highly sought-after on any marketplace.

Instead, you may come across another known yeti residing unconventionally in an unexpected and amusingly incongruous environment within the Asian-styled Ebonscale Reach region. In this area, there’s a cave surrounded by a peculiar ring of ice, which might raise some suspicion.

This particular one boasts a simpler difficulty level, making it more manageable even without assistance. Just like its counterpart, its inventory isn’t particularly captivating, but it retains the same probability for dropping the Weaponsmith Shoes.

Boss #7 – Myrkgard Runs

In this final instance, what you’re dealing with isn’t precisely a single boss, but rather an entire locale. If you recall playing the game some time back, then you might find comfort in learning that farming Myrkgard remains a useful strategy for acquiring quality gear suitable for personal use.

The main challenge with this approach is that you’ll require a skilled team to navigate this area effortlessly. A full raid party would make it easier, but even a group of well-equipped individuals should find it relatively simple to defeat the bosses.

The sprawling landmark, the Shattered Mountains, lies far to the north, and it’s hard to overlook since it stands out as the most significant attraction in that area.

This jogs my memory that my company, as depicted below, were pioneers who started farming this area among the earliest on our server during its launch. These days, it’s quite straightforward to team up with others or even a whole zerg to conquer Myrkgard together.

While that is the last recommendation for this guide, there are a lot of other PVE activities to participate in that can drop good loot. These just happen to be some of the easier ones, especially if your goal is to make a quick buck, though that last part will depend entirely on your server’s economy.
