After concluding the Norse mythology tale in “God of War Ragnarok,” there’s been curiosity about where the next game might delve into mythology. It appears we might have found our answer.
Reportedly, Daniel Richtman, a well-known source, has shared on his Patreon page that the upcoming God of War game appears to be set in Egyptian mythology. According to this leak, Sony is actively seeking Middle Eastern actors for an undisclosed AAA action-adventure project, believed to be the next installment of God of War.
It’s not the first time the developers of God of War have considered an Egyptian setting. In fact, during the development of the 2018 reboot, they favored Egypt over Norse mythology initially. However, after its release, director Cory Barlog hinted that the series might explore Egyptian mythology in the future.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve heard whispers that Sony Santa Monica might be brewing up a new, exciting universe to explore. If the rumors are true, it seems like Hiroshi Aragaki (who stepped back for God of War Ragnarok) could be at the helm. It leaves me wondering what this means for the immediate future of the God of War franchise.
