The latest addition to the long-standing SNK fighting series, titled “Fatal Fury: City of Wolves,” has hit the market. Despite being a niche game, its promotion strategy is far from obscure.
Although the visuals of this particular game may appear somewhat outdated next to heavyweights such as Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1, its promotional efforts are truly exceptional.
Instead of just acquiring soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo, they’ve also brought on board two prominent figures from the streaming world, KSI and IShowSpeed. These personalities will play pivotal roles when the company sponsors some high-profile boxing matches taking place in London and New York.
Besides this, the buses in the English capital are adorned, and we’re quite certain that these aren’t their final moves. There’s more than a week left before the release, indicating further actions may be taken.
Indeed, SNK can tap into Saudi Arabia’s vast Private Investment Fund, making financial resources less of a hurdle in this situation.
It’s somewhat unexpected that this series is being heavily promoted as if it were some of the most renowned figures in the genre. I can’t help but question if the investment will prove worthwhile in the end.
