Nick Carter is facing more legal trouble. 

A woman named Laura Penly has made allegations against a member of the Backstreet Boys, accusing him of sexual assault and transmitting sexually transmitted infections. These claims were reported based on documents obtained by People magazine.

In the lawsuit filed by Penry, as reported by People, she claims that she started a consensual sexual relationship with Carter (the older brother of the late Aaron Carter) in 2004 when she was nearly 19. According to her filing obtained by People, she alleges that she asked Carter to use a condom, but he declined, stating that he was “free” from STDs.

According to the report, in early 2005, Penly visited Carter’s apartment where she made it clear that she did not wish to engage in sexual activity. However, Carter claimed this was the sole reason for her visit. As stated in Penly’s filing, the singer, known as “Superman,” allegedly forced her onto his bed and performed a sexual act without using a condom, despite her repeatedly saying “no.

After the reported occurrence, Penly mentioned in the filing that she had always practiced safe sex prior to this incident. In July 2005, she was diagnosed with HPV and also tested positive for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Later on, in August 2005, she was diagnosed with stage two cervical cancer due to her HPV infection.

In her court document, Penly claims that she was forced to undergo cancer treatments, including surgery, and endured emotional turmoil, physical pain, and other traumatic experiences due to the alleged assault by Carter. She is taking legal action against him for sexual assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and seeking compensation for her damages.

The lawyers representing the group of conspirators stated this latest allegation against Nick Carter is simply more of the same baseless accusations.
