Nick Carter Reveals Heartbreaking Moment He Learned of Aaron’s Death

Nick Carter is still processing the loss of his brother Aaron Carter. 

A member of the Backstreet Boys, who has been accused of sexual assault for the fourth time in a recent court document but maintains his lawyers’ denial, shared his feelings on the day in 2022 when he found out that his brother had passed away due to an accidental drowning.

Nick reminisced on Paramount+’s The Carters: Hurts To Love You, which premiered on April 15, about that moment he was in London when it occurred and received a text message. To this day, he finds it hard to believe.

Nick, who tragically lost his sisters Leslie Carter and Bobbie Jean Carter due to drug overdoses in 2012 and 2023 respectively, shared his heart-wrenching memories with his surviving sister, Angel Carter Conrad. He lamented, “I haven’t had the time to mourn properly yet.

In the same documentary, I delve into conversations with my beloved siblings about disrupting a pattern passed down to us by our late parents, Bob Carter and Jane Schneck. These two remarkable individuals left an indelible impact on our lives before their passing in 2017.

In the documentary, Nick explained to Angel, “Our upbringing doesn’t dictate our identity.” Angel was already aware of this, but sadly, B.J., Aaron, and Leslie were not. They were unaware of their ability to break free. They didn’t deserve to be stuck in that situation.

Though the 45-year-old also wondered how much his boyband fame played a role.

He shared with Angel that he often feels responsible since he initiated everything, and in his explanation, he emphasized that at the time, both of them were too young to make a clean exit or leave the situation.

However, even though she can’t alter her past, Angel – mother of 6-year-old Harper with husband Cory Conrad – is dedicated to shaping the future and preserving the legacy of her deceased twin brother, by keeping his memory alive.

Angel expressed a hope to Transform Aaron’s legacy into something constructive, focusing on education, aid for children, and saving lives, as he shared with TopMob News in April. He is deeply grateful that Aaron has made such an impact on countless individuals, and will keep inspiring people in the future.

Certainly, it was clear that Angel felt an intense emotion similar to a burning fire within her upon hearing about her brother’s sad demise. This emotional spark fueled her determination to carry on her brother’s legacy and disrupt the harmful pattern that had plagued their family line.

For a long time, Aaron was too afraid to discuss his problems, as Angel pointed out. When Aaron passed away, I made a decision: “Enough is enough.” From now on, our family will not continue living this way. Our children will grow up without experiencing what we have, and we will break the pattern of silence that has held us back.
