As a dedicated fan who has lost countless hours to the captivating world of NieR: Automata, I can’t help but feel a mix of elation and frustration upon hearing about its latest sales milestone. With each passing day, it seems the game continues to enchant new players, while leaving us old ones yearning for more.
Is there any chance we might see a sequel to Nier: Automata in the near future? Although this question lingers, the game itself has been consistently selling well, nearly eight years after its initial release.
On Twitter, Square Enix shared that the game NieR: Automata has surpassed yet another sales record, with a total of over 9 million copies sold globally so far. This is an increase from the 8 million units sold back in February, suggesting that an additional million copies have been sold within the past 10 months.
It’s quite evident that it continues to draw a significant number of players. Watching how long it sustains this popularity is intriguing, but the more successful the renowned title sells, the more puzzling the absence of a new NieR game seems. Here’s hoping that changes soon.
NieR: Automata is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
