Nightsleeper gets heart-pounding new teaser with Peaky Blinders’ Joe Cole

As a seasoned film enthusiast who’s seen more action movies than I care to count, I must say that the upcoming series “Nightsleeper” has piqued my interest significantly. The teaser alone promises a thrilling ride reminiscent of classics like Hijack, Red Eye, and even the Die Hard films – all of which have left me on the edge of my seat more times than I can remember!

As the evenings grow longer, we can expect an abundance of captivating celestial events this month.

Kicking off the month of September with an exciting start is the series “Nightsleeper,” debuting this weekend. The story takes place on a train journey from Glasgow to London, where the train has allegedly been hijacked.

In an exciting twist, I find myself immersed in a fresh series that places me squarely alongside Joe Cole, famously known for his role in Peaky Blinders. This time, he steps into the shoes of detective Joe Roag, a man who finds himself unwittingly caught up in the wrong moment, at the wrong place.

In the video above, you’ll find an exciting sneak peek where we join Cole (as Joe) in a thrilling game of cat-and-mouse, involving a chaotic pursuit across a train and onto the station platform, all while attempting to apprehend a masked individual.

Currently, it’s unclear who the man is, but given that he’s running with a laptop case and seems to be fleeing from Joe, it’s plausible to speculate that he might belong to some distant and hostile elements potentially poised to sabotage the train.

The extended scene, indeed, underscores that the series is brimming with action, making it a likely success for fans of edge-of-the-seat thrillers like Hijack, Red Eye, and even the Die Hard movie series.

Additionally, you’ll spot a few well-known actors scattered among the cast, such as Ruth Madeley (from Doctor Who), Sharon Rooney (Barbie), Daniel Cahill (The Control Room), Katie Leung (Harry Potter) and James Cosmo (Game of Thrones).

In the midst of both train staff and travelers, this slightly tense drama is likely to bring excitement to everyone’s television viewing plans for the weekend.

“This series combines pulse-pounding action-adventure with a puzzling murder mystery. It’s an exhilarating ride where characters may not always be as they appear.

The summary proceeds: “At the helm of the action are Joe Roag, a police officer aboard the train, and Abby Aysgarth, who serves as the interim head of technology at the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

Yet, who is it that they’re engaged in conflict with? How might they possibly overcome this self-proclaimed ‘Driver’, who appears to always be a move ahead in terms of solutions?

As I found myself aboard the train during the wee hours, I was joined by Abby and a few remaining passengers, including Joe. But in this seemingly quiet company, one can’t help but wonder: are these individuals as guileless as they appear? Trust is a precious commodity here, and it’s a question that lingers: who among us knows more than they’re letting on?

The television show “Nightsleeper” begins airing on BBC One starting this coming Sunday, 15th September, at 9 pm. All the episodes will become accessible on iPlayer as early as 6 am on the same day.
