As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d like to address the recent developments in the life of Artem Chigvintsev, following his arrest on a domestic violence charge on August 29th. In an official statement, a representative for Artem’s wife of two years, and mother to their 4-year-old son Matteo, has provided an update on their situation.
Her representative informed TopMob News in a statement on August 30 that this issue is personal, and Nikki prefers to keep privacy for herself and her family right now.
On August 29, TopMob News reports that Maksim Chigvintsev was apprehended on charges of domestic violence and subsequently detained around morning hours. Later, he secured his release on a $25,000 bail in Napa, California. The charge he faces is under section 273.5 (a)PC of the California penal code, which pertains to violent acts inflicted upon a spouse or cohabitant.
Following his apprehension, a mugshot of the 42-year-old was acquired by NBC News. In this photo, Chigvintsev is seen looking serious at the camera against a backdrop of gray, sporting a long beard and wearing a green plaid shirt.
After it became known that he faced legal issues, several media outlets reported that Chigvintsev would not participate in season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars,” a show on which he had competed for 12 seasons. Interestingly, Chigvintsev and Garcia first met when she was his dance partner during season 25.
Chigvintsev was arrested shortly following the celebration of his second wedding anniversary with his partner on August 26th. On this special occasion, he marked it on Instagram by posting pictures from their wedding in Paris and expressing his love, saying “Happy anniversary, my dear. I can’t imagine my life without you. You are my everything.”
Garcia, aged 40, shared a heartfelt message along with a video capturing their memorable day, choosing to cite the lyrics of Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling in Love” and expressing, “This song encapsulates our love tale.”
