Following the granting of a temporary restraining order against him by a court, as reported by TMZ, Nikki was the one who filed for divorce from Artem on September 11, this action came after his August 29 arrest on suspicion of felony domestic violence. Brie’s heartfelt message followed subsequently.
Because of the event that resulted in Artem’s arrest on August 29, 2024, Nikki has chosen to submit an application for a temporary Domestic Violence Protection Order to safeguard herself and her child. Artem Chigvintsev was apprehended around 10 a.m. on August 29, as confirmed by Henry Wofford, the spokesperson for the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, to TopMob News. During the arrest, Chigvintsev did not resist and was transferred to the Napa County Department of Corrections. According to online records, he was charged with felony domestic violence and his bail was set at $25,000.
The professional dancer posted bail and was released from custody at 2:18 p.m. on Aug.29, Wofford confirmed to TopMob News. A court date has yet to be announced.
In response to inquiries from NBC News, Wofford confirmed that Chigvintsev was arrested in Yountville, California. However, due to a request for privacy from the alleged victim, the exact location and other personal details were not disclosed. The Sheriff is also withholding the name, gender, age, and relationship of the suspected victim to Chigvintsev.
In an audio clip released by TMZ on August 30th, it’s heard that Chigvintsev had initially phoned 911 asking for medical assistance due to a dispute where shoes were reportedly thrown at him. However, the call was later clarified that medical attention was no longer necessary. Despite this, Wofford explained that authorities still conducted a wellness check. As he told Page Six, “For domestic violence cases, even if someone on the phone says, ‘You don’t need to come anymore,’ we will still perform a welfare check. We won’t just halt our operations.
I, as a devoted follower, have not heard any public statements from Chigvintsev regarding his recent arrest or 911 call, as of August 30th. My attempts to reach his representative for clarification have been unsuccessful so far. TopMob News has extended an inquiry but has yet to receive a response.
Chigvintsev was detained just about three weeks before the launch of Dancing With the Stars’ season 33. However, it’s important to note that the former Mirrorball trophy holder, who’s participated in 12 seasons of the show, wasn’t scheduled to take part in this season’s lineup, according to Page Six and Variety.
