Nikki Glaser was on her best behavior while hosting the 2025 Golden Globes.
If you’re skeptical, let me tell you this: After exposing a few stars during the yearly Hollywood ceremony on January 5th, the comedian disclosed that some risqué jokes from her opening speech were eliminated because they were deemed too explicit.
Initially, Nikki brought up the topic of Sean “Diddy” Combs in relation to the accusations against him involving sex trafficking and organized crime (he has consistently denied any wrongdoing regarding these allegations).
During an episode of “The Howard Stern Show” on January 6th, Nikki shared a story about a line she decided not to say. She explained, “That particular joke was really fun, but I thought, ‘I’ll just tell it to Howard anyway.’ The problem with that one is, it makes it seem like the people in that room were involved, and they might turn against you if you accuse them of being part of it.
Ultimately, Nikki opted for a humorous remark, saying that “Challengers” had more sexual tension than Sean Combs’ credit card.
However, the 40-year-old had more Diddy wisecracks up her sleeve that went unused.
Amy Adams was nominated for her role in Night Bitch, but I was unfortunately overlooked for my performance in Day Slut, Nikki mentioned to Howard about another unrealized joke. The documentary category is quite competitive, though. Oh, by the way, Night Bitch is what Diddy listens to every evening before it’s time for bed.
In the course of their conversation, Nikki deliberately steered clear of discussing Luigi Mangione, a man currently implicated in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Tonight, Glen Powell is up for the award in the movie “Hit Man”. Nikki joked to Howard, “Who would have guessed that by year’s end, you’d be the second most sought-after hit man in America.” She explained that the joke didn’t work because Luigi was popular for a while, but then faded and took time for people to understand it.
Instead of making a comment about Conclave, the highly-nominated film, Nikki chose not to criticize the Catholic Church.
She shared that she adores the movie “Conclave” and believes it depicts the cardinals selecting a new pope. She strongly recommends others watch it, as it’s incredibly heartwarming. It’s so touching that the church might need to relocate screenings due to overwhelming response. The film is rated PG, making it suitable for children. They will find it captivating, and even the Catholic Church will appreciate it. A little tip: You don’t require identification to attend the “Conclave” afterparty.
However, she ended up deciding that “Catholic Church pedophile jokes” are played out.
Completing her list of potential stars, there was Alec Baldwin, whom she chose not to cast following the dismissal of his 2024 trial for involuntary manslaughter, a case linked to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Just wanted to let you know that I’m aware this might not be the nicest thing, but here it goes: Michael Keaton truly shone in ‘Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice’, unfortunately, Alec Baldwin couldn’t reprise his ghostly role because he was occupied with other projects.
She added that the joke was “too mean” to share on stage.
