Nikki Reed, known for her role in Twilight, recently disclosed details about the early stages of her relationship with husband Ian Somerhalder, parents to a 7-year-old daughter named Bodhi and an 11-month-old son. She talked about how their romance developed from a friendship that spanned over several years.

Nikki, aged 37, mentioned during Vampire Fan Weekend on June 7th, “I was engaged in some activity somewhere around the age of 13. A friend of his noticed me and asked, ‘Who is that person?’ Soon after, we were connected by a mutual friend since we both shared philanthropic interests. As our work involved similar fields, we maintained friendship for numerous years.

At that point, she and Ian, aged 46, were both involved with different partners. He was dating his “Vampire Diaries” co-star Nina Dobrev from 2010 to 2013, while Nikki parted ways with “American Idol” alum Paul McDonald in 2014, following almost three years of marriage.

Actually, a crucial query regarding her ongoing divorce significantly shifted the course of their friendship.

Following some time as friends, they began their romantic relationship in 2014, and tied the knot a year afterwards in a quiet wedding ceremony held in California.

Undoubtedly, California, often referred to as the Golden State, has played a significant role in their love story. Approximately two years ago, they chose to leave the bustling city life of Hollywood for a peaceful farm in California. This move has offered their children an opportunity to reacquaint themselves with nature, and it has also prompted them to consider their future plans more seriously.

On The Julia Cunningham Show’s April 24 episode, Nikki mentioned that he discusses leaving often, but he doesn’t see it as a departure. Instead, he perceives it as a significant transition period, where he’s working on harmonizing business with passion, truly embodying his words in action.
