Team Ninja has shared news about an upcoming update for the game “Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.” The studio used social media platform X to announce this next update, along with providing details on the newest version 1.0.6.0 patch. You can find the details of what’s included in this minor update by checking out the patch notes below.
The team behind Ninja Gaiden 2 Black has announced in a recent post that they’ll be making adjustments based on player feedback, and there will be balance tweaks included in this update. They plan to launch this update sometime in February.
Regarding the recent update, it’s now available on the PC (through Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X/S. This update resolves an issue where some players were unable to locate the DLSS and XeSS options for enhanced resolution. Additionally, it addresses a bug that halted player progression after defeating specific bosses, enabling smoother gameplay advancement.
Earlier this month, “Ninja Gaiden 2: Master Ninja Edition” was mysteriously released during Microsoft’s Developer Direct event. This action-packed game can now be enjoyed on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Additionally, subscribers to the Game Pass service can access it as well.
Created with Unreal Engine 5, “Ninja Gaiden 2 Black” combines elements from “Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2,” while preserving the challenging gameplay that the original Xbox 360 version was renowned for. In addition to the series lead Ryu Hayabusa, players can choose to control Akane, Momiji and Rachel as well.
In addition to launching Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, Team Ninja has shared that they’re teaming up with PlatinumGames for the creation of Ninja Gaiden 4, which is expected to hit PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in Fall 2025.
As an excited fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be stepping into the shoes of Yakumo from the Raven Clan as the main character in Ninja Gaiden 4. While the specifics of the game’s narrative are still under wraps, it’s confirmed that Hayabusa will play a crucial role in the story. Can’t wait to uncover more details about this highly anticipated title!
According to PlatinumGames’ director and producer, Yuji Nakao, progress on Ninja Gaiden 4 is approximately 70-80%. Team Ninja leader Fumihiko Yasuda hinted that a beta or demo might be released to gather feedback from fans of the series.
It appears that the concept for Team Ninja and PlatinumGames working together on the creation of _Ninja Gaiden 4_ was initiated by none other than Xbox head, Phil Spencer.
Following Phil Spencer’s suggestion from Microsoft, I found myself embarking on a joint venture with PlatinumGames, Koei Tecmo, and our team. This collaboration was sparked by the proposal to revive the Ninja Gaiden series with a new numbered title, a project that hadn’t seen daylight for over a decade. With PlatinumGames’ impressive track record in action game development, including Bayonetta and NieR: Automata, we were eager to team up and bring this iconic franchise back to life.
