As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but get excited about the visual and technical improvements that this new game promises! From what we saw in its trailer, it’s clear that there’s been a massive graphical upgrade compared to its predecessor. Everything from the textures to the models seems to have been reimagined and revamped. On top of that, according to the game’s official Xbox store page, it supports ray tracing, HDR10, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for an even more immersive gaming experience! Can’t wait to see more!
RESOLUTION AND FRAME RATE
Besides the enhanced visual appearance, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black 2 boasts impressive visual capabilities as well. On Xbox Series X, the game can run at a maximum resolution of 4K and 120 frames per second, as suggested by its product page. It’s reasonable to assume that this is also applicable for PS5. It seems we’re unexpectedly getting a remake (or remaster) of Ninja Gaiden 2, and here’s why: According to Team Ninja head Fumihiko Yasuda, they’ve chosen to focus on Ninja Gaiden 2 in particular because it remains one of the top-tier action games, serving as a way to ease concerns among dedicated fans who may be worried about the future of Ryu Hayabusa (who isn’t the main character in the upcoming Ninja Gaiden 4). In an interview with Xbox Wire, Yasuda explained that the primary motivation for creating Ninja Gaiden 2 Black was to address fan concerns about Ryu Hayabusa’s fate and provide players something enjoyable while they await the release of Ninja Gaiden 4. They picked Ninja Gaiden 2 because it represents one of the strongest action games in the series, and added ‘Black’ to the title to signal that this is the ultimate version, much like Ninja Gaiden Black was for the original game.

In simpler terms, “Ninja Gaiden 2 Black” is a revised version of the 2008 original game, but it doesn’t disregard the 2009 re-release called “Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2”.
