Ninja Gaiden 4 Is Already 70-80% Complete, Now in Polishing Phase for PS5

Surprise! We’re nearly 70-80% done with Ninja Gaiden 4, and it’s currently undergoing fine-tuning before its anticipated release on PlayStation 5 towards the end of this year.

In a conversation with Xbox Wire, PlatinumGames’ Yuji Nakao shared a piece of information, mentioning that they are still working closely with Team Ninja to make sure every aspect exceeds the anticipation of the fans.

He mentioned: “Additional details are on their way to give you a clear picture of how engaging and thrilling this game can be. So, don’t go anywhere! As both a spectator and a creator, I promise to ensure the experience is enjoyable for all.

In the next installment, we find ourselves years after Ninja Gaiden 3, set in a rain-soaked, futuristic version of Tokyo with a cyberpunk vibe. The story introduces a new hero named Yakumo, but don’t worry, the beloved character Ryu Hayabusa will make an appearance as well and can be played by you.

Nakao explained that since it had been some time since the last game, they felt it was beneficial to introduce a fresh character to help make the series feel less intimidating and more inviting to newcomers.

Absolutely, we aimed to make sure long-time fans would appreciate the game too, so Ryu Hayabusa plays a crucial part in the plot. He presents a significant hurdle and developmental milestone for Yakumo. You’ll encounter Ryu frequently throughout the game, and you’ll even have the chance to control him, ensuring his skill and impact are tangible and impactful.

It appears that the franchise’s comeback is attributable to none other than Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox!

According to Fumihiko Yasuda from Team Ninja, the strong bond between Koei Tecmo’s president, Hisashi Koinuma, and PlatinumGames’ CEO, Atsushi Inaba, has inspired us to delve into a joint project development.

We believed that PlatinumGames possessed the right skills for developing Ninja Gaiden. With backing from Microsoft’s Phil Spencer, these three entities moved forward in their collaboration to create a fresh version of Ninja Gaiden.

You’ll be able to play it at launch later this year on the PS5.
