Team Ninja has unveiled news about an upcoming modification for the game “Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.” They shared this information on social media platform X, along with specifics regarding the new version 1.0.6.0 update. Here are some highlights from the minor update as outlined in the patch notes below.
In their latest announcement, the studio mentioned that they’re taking player feedback into account for the upcoming update of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. This update will also include adjustments to the game balance. The team plans to launch this update in February.
The recent update is now available on both PC (via Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X/S. This update resolves an issue where players were unable to locate DLSS and XeSS options for enhanced resolution settings. Additionally, it tackles a bug that hindered progression, preventing players from advancing after defeating certain bosses.
Earlier this month, Ninja Gaiden 2: Master Duplicity was secretly released during Microsoft’s Developer Direct event. You can play this game on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. It is also accessible if you subscribe to the Game Pass service.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, built upon Unreal Engine 5, blends elements from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, preserving the challenging gameplay reminiscent of its original Xbox 360 version. Joining series hero Ryu Hayabusa in the action are characters Akane, Momiji, and Rachel, who can all be played.
In conjunction with the launch of “Ninja Gaiden 2 Black”, it’s been confirmed that Team Ninja, in partnership with PlatinumGames, is working on “Ninja Gaiden 4“. This upcoming game is set to arrive on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in autumn 2025.
In the upcoming game titled “Ninja Gaiden 4,” the main character is Yakumo from the Raven Clan. Although specifics about the plot aren’t out yet, it’s confirmed that Hayabusa will play a crucial role in the story.
According to Yuji Nakao, director and producer at PlatinumGames, development on the upcoming game, “Ninja Gaiden 4,” is nearly finished, with about 70-80% of the work completed. Fumihiko Yasuda, head of Team Ninja, hinted that there could be a beta or demo version released to gather feedback from fans of the franchise.
In a recent disclosure, Yasuda shared that the collaboration between Team Ninja and PlatinumGames on the creation of _Ninja Gaiden 4_ was sparked by Xbox head honcho, Phil Spencer.
Following this, Phil Spencer from Microsoft proposed a joint venture between PlatinumGames, Koei Tecmo, and Microsoft to create a new installment in the Ninja Gaiden series. This was the spark that ignited the project. Although we have our own expertise in action games, we felt it would be beneficial to collaborate given that we were embarking on a new Ninja Gaiden after more than a decade. PlatinumGames, known for their impressive work on titles like Bayonetta and NieR: Automata, seemed the ideal choice for this endeavor, which is how the partnership came about.
