As a seasoned gamer with decades of experiences under my belt, I must admit that Nintendo has always had a knack for surprising us with unexpected yet delightful offerings. The Alarmo alarm clock is no exception to this rule.
Following classic Nintendo style, instead of revealing details about a potential Nintendo Switch 2, they’ve surprised us with something entirely different: Alarmo. This intriguing gadget is actually an alarm clock that promises to rouse you from sleep with engaging sounds and tunes, along with interactive features such as waving your hand at the clock to hush it or performing other actions for various outcomes. Starting this year, Nintendo’s online store will offer Alarmo for $100 to those who register their accounts, while other retailers will carry it next year.
The Alarmo alarm clock allows you to customize certain features, such as featuring Nintendo characters during the wake-up routine. These characters will periodically appear if you delay waking up, mimicking the snooze function found in conventional alarm clocks. You can silence the alarm either by waving your hand or moving around, suggesting that it includes a camera or motion sensor system.
In a short while, an element from the scene you selected will materialize with the new Alarmo clock, Nintendo mentioned. To lessen the noise, simply wave your hand or move your body. Depending on the game title you’ve chosen, you may also hear coins or other recognizable game noises when interacting with Alarmo.
Rise and shine! The Nintendo Sound Clock: #Alarmo is now available for early access to members with Nintendo Switch Online in the United States and Canada! This engaging alarm clock allows you to set a time and choose from 35 scenes spanning across five different Nintendo games. Additional titles will be added later!

If you continue sleeping, you might find yourself confronted by a character who is particularly convincing, perhaps even Bowser himself. However, when you eventually rise from your slumber, you will discover a joyful display on the clock, congratulating you for waking up and starting your day.
The following games – Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Ring Fit Adventure, Pikmin 4, and Splatoon 3 – are currently supported in customizing your Alarmo settings. Nintendo has hinted that additional titles such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be added to the list through post-launch updates for Alarmo.
The Nintendo Alarm Clock is set to debut initially on the My Nintendo Online Store, as well as at physical Nintendo stores, with a wider distribution to retailers expected starting from early 2025.
