Approaching the release of Nintendo Switch 2 next month, there’s lingering apprehension about its Game-Key Cards. It appears that various third-party games in Japan utilize these cards, and while titles such as Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will come on a cartridge, consumers might not have many alternatives otherwise.
It appears that game-key cards won’t be used for games developed by Nintendo themselves, as confirmed by Nintendo UK when asked about popular series like Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid. They stated that they currently have no plans to implement such a system for their in-house titles.
As a dedicated fan, I’m speculating that given Nintendo’s global publishing role for The Duskbloods, FromSoftware’s upcoming exclusive for Switch 2, there might be a possibility of this PvEvP title being distributed via Game-Key Cards. However, it’s essential to note that this is just speculation at the moment, so keep an eye out for official announcements in the upcoming months.
Launching on June 5th, you can now pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2! Despite the recent tariffs in the U.S., its price remains at $449.99. However, some accessories have seen a price hike compared to before. For more details, click here.
