As Nintendo prepares to unveil further details about the Nintendo Switch 2, whispers are circulating suggesting that the corporation has already begun delivering the console to North America. A Reddit user named Icy-ConcentrationC discovered a post on Famiboards by user LiC, which hints that around 400,000 units of the Switch 2 were shipped between January 17 and January 22.
Approximately 383,000 gaming consoles are expected to be sold in the US and Canada, as they carry the USZ region code. Additionally, it’s rumored that accessories such as a charging grip with the product code BEE-A-ESSKA will be shipped along with these consoles. Interestingly, the original Switch’s charging grip had the product code HAC-A-ESSKA, suggesting some continuity in their naming scheme.
Finally, I can’t contain my excitement! Turns out, HVBG managed to ship a whopping 383,000 fully assembled consoles to the US from January 17th through the 22nd. And guess what? These babies are all set for the US/Canada region. To top it off, they also shipped 41,598 charging grips destined for the US. This confirms that HGU0620 is indeed the charging grip with a product code BEE-A-ESSKA, which aligns perfectly with the Switch 1’s charging grip’s HAC-A-ESSKA.
In the given scenario, HVBG, a Vietnamese manufacturer, seems to be one of the companies responsible for putting together the Switch 2, utilizing components such as the screen, buttons, and circuit boards obtained from different suppliers.
LiC continued discussing HVBG receiving various system components that presumably are for the upcoming console, such as System-on-Chips (SoCs). In December, it was reported that the company had obtained approximately 1.2 million SoCs and screens. By January, even more shipments had arrived, totaling around 1.7 million units.
If the rumors hold up, it appears that Nintendo might be making efforts to prevent a lack of stock for the Switch 2, given that its unspecified release date seems to be drawing near.
In January, Nintendo publicly revealed the Switch 2, and since then, the initial unveiling video has reached new viewership heights. As I’m typing this, the Nintendo of America YouTube channel’s version of that sneak peek trailer has amassed a staggering 21 million views.
The unveiling of The Switch 2 offered us a glimpse into the console’s revamped design, which leans towards a more subdued style compared to its earlier versions. Instead of the JoyCons flaunting bright colors, the classic red and blue hues are now used as accents around the borders and on the analog sticks.
Additionally, you’ll notice that the console comes equipped with a bigger screen and an innovative magnet-driven connector for the JoyCon controllers. By the way, these controllers have a freshly introduced C button, and we can’t wait to find out what it does!
The revamped dock for the Switch 2 now sports rounded edges and boasts a sleek, flatter profile, allowing for greater visibility of the console while in use.
Details concerning the Switch 2, such as its release-time games, technical specifications, and launch date, are anticipated to be unveiled in the upcoming Switch 2-focused presentation scheduled for April 2nd.
