Nintendo of America Boss on New 3D Mario for Switch 2: “Stay Tuned”

It’s generally understood that a new primary 3D Super Mario platformer will eventually arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2, but it won’t be as immediate as some had anticipated. Surprisingly, this new 3D Mario game won’t be available at the launch of the Switch 2, nor within its initial months following release. However, to alleviate any worries, Doug Bowser, president of Nintendo of America, has provided reassurances.

During an interview with CNN, when queried about the absence of Mario on Switch 2 currently, Bowser advised fans to “keep an eye out”, implying that Nintendo has numerous intellectual properties (IP) planned for their upcoming console over time.

Considering that Super Mario Odyssey has been around for nearly eight years, it’s clear that anticipation for its sequel is quite significant. Here’s hoping it doesn’t take much longer until we can finally play the next Mario game.

3D platforming enthusiasts have another big Nintendo-produced game to anticipate: “Donkey Kong Bananza,” set for release on Switch 2 in July. There’s a lot of talk that this game was made by the same team behind “Odyssey,” but Nintendo has not yet confirmed or denied these rumors officially.
