Nintendo of America President Assures Enough Supply to Meet Switch 2 Demand in the US

Even though there has been criticism over game pricing and features like Game Chat, excitement for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 remains high. In fact, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa had to express regret due to supply shortages in the My Nintendo Store, particularly for those who entered a lottery in Japan.

For the present fiscal year, which concludes on March 31st, 2026, the company anticipates selling 15 million units. According to Nintendo of America‘s chief executive, Doug Bowser, this projection is based on mirroring the Switch console’s sales during its first ten months in the market. Looking ahead, he is confident that the company will be able to produce and supply enough units to meet demand in the future.

Last week, Mr. Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo’s President, revealed that our projected sales figures for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch are set at 15 million units and 4.5 million units respectively, for the upcoming fiscal year.

The forecast is primarily based on our ambition to replicate, if you understand, the success we achieved with the Nintendo Switch within its first 10 months. In terms of our strategic approach in the U.S., we are optimistic that we’ll have sufficient production and supply to cater to consumer demand.

It’s clear that there has been a great deal of enthusiasm for the Nintendo Switch 2, as indicated by the high number of pre-orders we’ve received. Rest assured, we have a strategy in place to ensure a steady supply of the product will be available throughout the holiday season.

On June 5th, the global release of the Nintendo Switch 2 takes place at a price of $449.99. Accompanying it are games such as “Mario Kart World,” priced at $79.99 individually. If you’d like to buy them together, there’s an offer available for $499.99, but this combo deal is only offered in limited supply until autumn.

Take a look at our detailed breakdown comparing the technical specifications of the new Switch 2 against the original model right here. However, please note that Variable Refresh Rate support in Docked Mode is not included, as Nintendo has now explicitly stated this feature is unavailable.
