As someone who grew up with Nintendo games and their iconic soundtracks, I am beyond thrilled about the new Nintendo Music app! The nostalgia this app brings is overwhelming, from the soothing tunes of Zelda to the upbeat melodies of Mario Kart. However, as a long-time Nintendo fan, I’ve also grown accustomed to their quirky business strategies. So while I’m delighted that the app exists, it’s no surprise that it requires a Switch Online subscription – after all, when has Nintendo ever given us something for free?
Nintendo recently unveiled a fresh mobile application specifically designed for handheld devices, exclusively featuring the melodies from its most acclaimed video games. When it comes to game music, Nintendo’s brand is often equated with that of its top-tier titles. Iconic series such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Mario Kart, and Fire Emblem are not only renowned for their captivating gameplay but also their memorable soundtracks. To make the music from these games more accessible than ever before, Nintendo has introduced a small fee to access this app.
Now available for both iOS and Android devices, the unexpected launch of the Nintendo Music App showcases a selection of well-known game scores from various platforms such as NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Game Boy, GameCube, and Switch. To enjoy this app, however, a subscription to Nintendo’s Switch Online service is necessary. Fortunately, any level of Switch Online membership grants access to the Nintendo Music App, so you won’t need to upgrade to pricier tiers if you already have an active account.

Relax and immerse yourself in a variety of Nintendo melodies through the Nintendo Music app, available exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. This app enables you to stream or download music tracks from iconic franchises like The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, and Animal Crossing, with additional series joining the lineup soon.
According to Nintendo, today marks the beginning of the Nintendo Music app. In the time to come, they intend to expand the app with additional songs and soundtracks from their rich history. As for which games’ music will be featured next, that information hasn’t been disclosed yet, but we can expect updates soon.
What’s your take on the freshly launched Nintendo Music app? Are you planning to give it a try personally, or is it that you don’t have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription needed to access it? Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts with me via social media at @MooreMan12.
