With the anticipated reveal of Nintendo’s upcoming console, supposedly a successor to the Switch, images have emerged claiming to showcase its JoyCon controller. These images suggest that the design may not undergo significant changes. Here are the pictures for your perusal (courtesy of user Stealth).
Similar to the Nintendo Switch, the upcoming console appears to offer the ability for players to utilize individual JoyCons as standalone controllers for local multiplayer games. This is supported by the image, which shows SL and SR buttons, as well as a pairing button on the new controller. Additionally, the design of the new controller suggests it may have a different mounting mechanism compared to its predecessor, possibly replacing the slide-in mechanical setup with something new.
Remarkably, one image suggests that this time, the eject button on the JoyCon is enlarged compared to its previous small circular shape located behind the triggers.
Although Nintendo hasn’t made an official announcement about the Switch’s successor yet, there have been rumors suggesting that a reveal could happen at an event scheduled for May. The same reports hint towards a possible release of the new console in June. Recent findings on Nintendo’s patents give us a sneak peek into the system’s potential hardware and software features, which appear to encompass technology similar to DLSS for upscaling and a neural network.
Rumor: More images of Switch 2 Joy-Cons have immerged from China.
