Notably, it has been confirmed that near field communication (NFC) technology will be included in the Switch 2. This feature was initially introduced along with Amiibo during the Wii U era and was also incorporated into the original Switch. With the latest revelation, any lingering doubts about its inclusion in the upcoming Switch 2 can be laid to rest.
For approximately ten years now, Nintendo has been producing Amiibo figures, with their initial release happening in 2014.
