The anticipation and excitement are palpable, and as someone who has witnessed the evolution of gaming consoles since their inception, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia.

A potential design for the new Nintendo Switch 2’s Joy-Con controller has leaked online, originating from a Chinese site called Bilibili. This leak was made by an anonymous user who posted several images claimed to be the new Nintendo Switch 2 controllers from various angles. The images appear somewhat blurry, allegedly to maintain the source’s confidentiality.

As you can see from a recent post on Reddit about the Nintendo Switch 2, the rumored design for its joy-con controller seems to resemble the existing one quite closely. However, there is an apparent addition – a new button located at the back of the controllers that looks like it could be a sort of backward pedal or trigger.

Although China might appear an unexpected location for this leak, it’s quite frequent. Similar to other video game consoles, the Nintendo Switch 2 is manufactured in China. It’s not uncommon for new, undisclosed hardware to start leaking when it goes into mass production. This is often why the unveiling of video game hardware happens either before or coincides with such leaks.
