As a gamer, I can’t contain my excitement! The Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are about to drop, starting from April 9, globally, except for a few regions due to unexpected tariff issues. Initially, it was just the US feeling the heat, but it seems that the tariffs might affect some of us outside the US as well. Fingers crossed that I’ll be among the first to secure my Switch 2!
According to a statement given to Mobile Syrup, Nintendo has postponed the start of pre-orders for the Switch 2 across Canada due to a decision to synchronize pre-order dates in both countries. At present, there’s no information about when pre-orders will be available again. However, it’s important to note that the previously set release date for the console on June 5 remains unchanged, just as in the United States.
Canadian pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 won’t begin on April 9, 2025. This move is to coordinate with the yet-to-be-determined US pre-order timing. The launch date of June 5, 2025 remains unchanged, and further details will be shared at a later time by the company.
Currently, the console is set to retail in the U.S. for $449.99 and in Canada for $629.99. However, there’s a strong possibility that prices may rise, particularly in the U.S. Keep an eye out for further updates within the next few days.
