It’s said that this controller might not only boast upgrades over the current Nintendo Switch Pro controller, but also two enigmatic buttons. These additional buttons could be intended for the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons.
Similar to numerous past rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2, this latest speculation originates from China, posted by a forum member who alleges to work at a factory producing not the Nintendo Switch 2 itself, but rather the advanced Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller.
Based on an unidentified source’s claim, the design of the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller is identical to that of the current Nintendo Switch Pro controller. However, what sets it apart are two new buttons located at the back: GL and GR. The purpose of these buttons remains unknown. It is plausible that they might serve as additional buttons for advanced button mapping, but this is merely conjecture.
The controller features a predominantly black body, contrasting with its gray joysticks and buttons. This creates a dual-toned aesthetic reminiscent of the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller’s design.
