As a dedicated gamer eagerly awaiting the Switch 2, I’ve seen Nintendo’s announcement about the overwhelming demand for pre-orders. They’re doing their best to make sure every pre-order gets filled by the launch, but due to high demand, they can’t guarantee that all consoles will be delivered by June 5. Instead, some of us might receive an email after the launch day confirming our order has been shipped.

“The company expressed its excitement about the eagerness for the Nintendo Switch 2 on their website. Since there’s an incredibly high demand, they will be putting in extra effort to ship orders as soon as stock arrives, but a June 5 delivery is not certain. You might receive your invitation email after the launch of Nintendo Switch 2. Your shipping date will be confirmed once you make a purchase.”

The company has mentioned that if you’re okay with possibly delayed shipments for pre-orders from Nintendo directly, no extra steps are required. However, they suggest that if you want a better chance to own the Switch 2, you can pre-order it via retailers such as GameStop.

Ordering the Switch 2 directly from Nintendo involves registering your interest on their My Nintendo Store. If you meet certain requirements, you’ll be added to a line of potential customers. As your turn approaches to purchase the console, you’ll receive an email invitation and have up to 3 days to finalize your order.

Starting from May 8, we’ll send out the initial round of invitation emails. If you don’t receive yours on that day, don’t worry – you’ll stay in line until more invitations are sent out. Nintendo has promised that invitations will keep getting sent out until every eligible buyer has had an opportunity to place their order.

Nintendo stated that because there’s a large number of registrations and changes in availability, they can’t promise an exact time for when invitations will be distributed. They also mentioned that their store will keep using this invitation system even after the launch date, until it becomes possible for everyone to make purchases.

The interest in the Switch 2 is skyrocketing, with many trying to secure a pre-order in the U.S. and Canada expressing frustration on social media due to technical problems on shopping sites preventing them from completing their purchases. Contrastingly, Nintendo’s president Furukawa announced in Japan that over 2 million individuals have registered for the lottery system utilized for Switch 2 pre-orders within the country.

The Switch 2 retails at a price point of $449.99. For comprehensive information on its console price, associated games, and additional accessories, please refer to this link.
