Nintendo Switch 2: You WONT Get It On Launch Day

There’s been massive anticipation surrounding the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, and with pre-orders now available, enthusiasts are rushing to secure their purchase. Due to quick sellouts at major retailers, many are trying to obtain either the Nintendo Switch 2 or the “Mario Kart World” Nintendo Switch 2 Package directly from Nintendo. However, a recent statement from Nintendo about order fulfillment may cause some fans’ expectations to wane. The revelation that Nintendo is struggling to meet the demand for the Nintendo Switch 2 in Japan has left some disheartened, and this latest announcement only adds to the disappointment as the launch date of June 5th approaches.

Nintendo’s recent announcement indicates that there’s no certainty about delivery by June 5th, even when purchasing from their official My Nintendo Store. Furthermore, some customers might not receive an invitation email until after the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, implying that they might have to wait beyond June 5th before they can possibly place an order for the console.

Undeniably, it’s disheartening news given the high demand for pre-orders at Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and GameStop. Unfortunately, due to website crashes, rapid sellouts, and some retailers canceling orders, securing a Nintendo Switch 2 through these channels seemed promising. However, with this latest update, it appears that may no longer be an option.

Nintendo advises players to keep their registration for the invitation email while simultaneously exploring other options to obtain the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s possible that stores like Best Buy and GameStop might stock units, particularly during midnight events. However, obtaining a console this way is not guaranteed, and some may have to acknowledge they won’t secure the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.
