As per its most recent financial report, Nintendo confirmed that a total of 152.14 million Nintendo Switch consoles have been purchased globally up until March 31st, 2025. In the last quarter alone, which spans over a three-month period, an additional 1.26 million units were sold.
The sale of the console has significantly decreased compared to the previous quarter’s 4.82 million hardware sales, with only 10.80 million units sold in the fiscal year 2025 – a drop of 31.2 percent when compared to the fiscal year 2024.
Speaking about software sales, we saw a decrease this time around, with approximately 31.43 million units being sold compared to 53.7 million in the third quarter – that’s a significant drop of 22.2%. For the entire fiscal year, software sales amounted to 155.41 million units, marking a 22.2% decrease compared to the previous fiscal year.
At the moment, Nintendo is concentrating on the global release of the Switch 2 on June 5th. The console will be available for purchase at a price of $449.99. Pre-orders are already being accepted, but due to recent U.S. tariffs, the cost of accessories has increased.
