As a seasoned gamer with over three decades of gaming under my belt, I can attest to the fact that Nintendo has always managed to captivate our hearts and wallets with their innovative consoles. The Switch, in particular, has been an absolute game-changer (pun intended) for me, offering a seamless blend of home and portable gaming.
As a dedicated Nintendo Switch gamer, it’s mind-blowing to think that we’ve hit a whopping 146 million units sold since this console first launched back in 2017. Even though global sales are tapering off a bit, the anticipation is building for what they’ve got lined up next – they plan on unveiling the successor to our beloved Switch within the current fiscal year, which means we could be talking Nintendo Switch 2.0 by March 31st, 2025!
Based on reports from Reuters and a recent online press conference, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has once more expressed his intentions regarding a particular plan. Despite his announcement, he did not offer specific details such as an exact month. Rumors suggest a potential unveiling in September, but sources like PH Brazil indicate that the plan is still anticipated to be revealed sometime this year.
It’s not very likely that an announcement will be made this year given the circumstances. As reported by the site, Hideki Yasuda from Toyo Securities stated that making such an announcement now might draw attention away from the current Nintendo Switch sales surge and the release of major titles like “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” last September and the upcoming “Mario and Luigi: Brothership”.
It’s been whispered that the successor to the Nintendo Switch could have two versions available. One version will sell for $449, while a digital-only model will cost $399. So far, we’ve heard whispers of potential games for this platform, ranging from “Pokemon Legends: Z-A” to “Yooka-Replaylee”. Additionally, there are unannounced titles like the rumored “Sonic Heroes Remake” and “Persona 6” on the horizon. Keep an eye out for more updates in the upcoming months!
