Developer Team NINJA, under publisher Koei Tecmo, has declared the upcoming release of “Nioh 3” for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) in early 2026. An Alpha Demo is currently accessible on PlayStation 5 through the PlayStation Store; this preview will be available until June 18.

In this game, players traverse an expansive outdoor landscape, allowing them ample room to roam while experiencing the distinctive suspense that defines every Nioh installment. Expect intense battles against powerful yokai, investigate villages teeming with shady characters, tackle the demanding tasks of The Crucible, and prepare for the adrenaline-pumping challenges of hostile, fresh environments as you strive to endure in the haunted kingdom!
Two Styles: Samurai and Ninja
In Nioh 3, players can enjoy two different fighting styles: Samurai and Ninja.
- Samurai Style – This style provides a gameplay experience similar to previous Nioh titles. New actions such as “Arts Proficiency”, which enhances the power of martial arts, and “Deflect”, which allows players to block enemy attacks at the last moment, have been added, helping create a series of intense and deadly face-to-face confrontations.
- Ninja Style – This style excels in quick movements like dodging and aerial actions, giving ninjas the advantage of being able to attack from outside of the enemy’s range by utilizing a variety of “Ninjutsu” techniques according to the situation on the battlefield. Players have the ability to use techniques like “Mist”, which leaves a clone after an attack, and “Evade”, which allows for narrowly avoiding enemy strikes. Both techniques help players outmaneuver foes while delivering devastating speed attacks from behind.
Online Multiplayer
In the new version of Nioh, players can now call for aid using the “Summon Visitor” feature, or team up and venture together into the open world via the multiplayer mode called “Expeditions”. These modes have been well-received in earlier installments of the game.
This feature is beneficial for individuals stuck in a standoff when playing alone, or for those who prefer collaborative problem-solving.
