No Man’s Sky Adds Free Nintendo Switch 2 Support in Latest Update

Games studio Hello Games has unveiled the newest update for the game No Man’s Sky, and it includes support for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console, scheduled to launch on June 5th. The updated version of the game, called the “Switch 2 Edition,” offers significant improvements for this space exploration title. Dive deeper into the details with co-founder Sean Murray in the write-up below.

In addition to 4K textures, the Switch 2 upgraded version includes Nvidia DLSS and Dynamic Super Resolution support, enhanced geometry, and a smoother frame rate. It also supports touch and gyro controls with higher resolutions for both Docked and Handheld modes. Moreover, Murray points out the clarity of the user interface, and confirms cross-saving and cross-play compatibility with other platforms.

According to the trailer, visual enhancements make it resemble current-generation console versions more closely. Players who start at launch will have access to nearly nine years of free content upgrades. This includes expansions like Worlds Part 1 and 2, which introduced new celestial bodies; Aquarius, which included fishing as a new feature; and Relics, where Paleontology was added as a new activity.
