No Rest for the Wicked Update Revamps Cerim Crucible, Adds New Faction, Vendor and More

As a dedicated fan of Moon Studios’ games, I’m thrilled to witness the continuous growth and expansion of “No Rest for the Wicked” through its latest update. The addition of the new Cerim Crucible post-game dungeon is an exciting development that brings a fresh and more rogue-like experience to the game.

Moon Studios’ “No Rest for the Wicked” has received its initial significant content overhaul since starting early access. This update primarily enhances the Cerim Crucible, the post-game dungeon. The theme of the art in this area has been revamped, and a new vendor has been introduced. Additionally, Echoes have been added to create a more challenging rogue-like experience.

During each playthrough, Echoes grant various bonuses at irregular intervals. Vanquished adversaries leave behind Traces, which can be utilized to awaken additional Echoes. The enigmatic figure known as The Seneschal manages this operation. Although his real identity is a mystery, he accepts Gloamseeds obtained from the Crucible in exchange for Fallen Embers and the power to Empower weapons (enhancing weapon attributes and Charms).

A new group has emerged, called The Gloam. Members of this faction have bioluminescent mushrooms growing on them. Their combat style sets them apart from previous enemies. Look forward to encountering them in the overworld during upcoming releases.

Notable aspects include activating the Crucible upon entering Sacrament for the first time. Areas such as Black Trench and Nameless Pass have been expanded with novel elements and hidden treasures. Combat has been enhanced with new features like shattering frozen foes and explosions caused by fireballs. Moon Studios is also developing further enhancements to the Crucible, introducing additional challenges and bosses through increased status.

The wicked don’t get a break, and you can get an early access to this fact on PC through Steam (read our evaluation first). Moreover, it’s scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as well.
