Details on the New Escape Section and the Game System’s Three Sections
In this latest edition, a fresh “Escape” part joins the regular “Investigation” and “Dream” segments. Each piece offers a distinct playable character, and the narrative unfolds as gamers alternate between these three gameplay modes.

Investigation
In this investigative journey, guide protagonist Kaname Date as he pursues the whereabouts of Iris. The narrative progresses as you explore real-world sites, examine crime scenes, and interrogate crucial witnesses. Along the way, Date employs the advanced features of his AI-integrated prosthetic left eye, “AI-Ball,” to discover crucial evidence that may lead to cracking the case open.
Somnium
In this part of the series, you’ll find that Somnium is a key aspect. Here, instead of commanding Kaname Date, you’ll guide Aiba, who has been transformed into a female humanoid form. By utilizing a tool known as the “Psync” device, you’ll delve into the dream world of a witness. This journey will help you unearth forgotten memories and uncover hidden truths within a tight six-minute timeframe.
In a dreamscape, the landscape is molded by an individual’s character and recollections, making it a place where conventional physical laws no longer hold true. Each dream, or Somnium, has its own distinct set of guidelines that govern its behavior. These dreams are barricaded by mental obstacles, often referred to as “mental locks,” which must be surmounted through specific actions in order to access deeper memories.
In this segment, every decision you make takes up some time. By grasping the principles of the dream realm and choosing optimal actions, you can traverse effectively, maximizing your scant resources of time.
Escape
In the game called Escape, assume command over a character named Iris who finds herself imprisoned within a locked chamber. Your objective is to decipher the riddles hidden throughout the room and discover a means of exit. Throughout this phase, you’ll exchange information with Kaname Date and Aiba via discussions, and they will provide hints to aid your escape efforts. To uncover the necessary clues, be sure to scrutinize objects and scattered items within the room thoroughly. Certain collectibles might not seem useful individually, but when combined with other items, they can unlock hidden abilities.

On July 25, the game titled “No Rest for Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files” will be released for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam.
