And now, Colin Hanks joins the fray as a corrupt sheriff? Count me in!
The lineup of actors in the upcoming movie “Nobody 2” keeps expanding. Last week, it was confirmed that Christopher Lloyd would reprise his role for the sequel, and Sharon Stone was brought on board as the primary villain. Now, Colin Hanks has been announced as a new addition to the film. According to initial reports from The Hollywood Reporter, he will play the character of a “corrupt sheriff with less than honorable intentions.”
The specifics about the movie are being tightly guarded secrets, but franchise writer Derek Kolstad hinted that the concept originated during the shooting of the 2021 prequel.
In an interview with Empire Magazine, Kolstad shared that the concept for “Nobody 2” was developed even before the first film began production. Essentially, they brainstormed possibilities like, “Where can we take this? What exciting twists can we add?” It’s an enjoyable process because I truly feel that the best idea should prevail. When you were 11 years old, dreaming up ideas during recess or discussing them with friends while playing video games, and you thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool if character A fought character B?”, that’s exactly what we’re doing for “Nobody 2”.
“Most significantly, everyone was urged to position themselves in a corner and rely on each other for support to navigate their way out. This way, he said, ‘I won’t mind if people label anything I’ve ever produced as a guilty pleasure, because those are my favorite films,’ he added.”
In a surprising turn of events, an unassuming and undervalued character named Hutch (Odenkirk), who was a loving husband to Becca (Connie Nielsen from Wonder Woman) and a devoted father, endured life’s hardships with grace and avoided causing trouble. However, when his daughter lost her cherished kittycat bracelet and their home was robbed, Hutch reached a breaking point that no one knew he possessed. Transforming from an ordinary dad into a fearless crusader, the seemingly insignificant man transformed into a force to be reckoned with as he embarked on a thrilling journey of retribution filled with explosive vengeance.
In the movies “Back to the Future,” played by Christopher Lloyd, and “The Man With the Iron Fists,” where RZA of Wu-Tang Clan appeared, they shared roles together.
Nobody 2 is set to hit theaters next August while Nobody is now available wherever movies are sold.
