As a cinephile with over three decades of movie-watching under my belt, I must say that the latest Nosferatu trailer has me genuinely excited! With Robert Eggers at the helm and an impressive cast led by Bill Skarsgard and Lily-Rose Depp, this gothic tale of obsession promises to be a visual feast.
Director Robert Eggers has left a strong mark in cinema with visually unique films such as The Witch, The Lighthouse, and more recently, The Northman (be sure to catch it if you haven’t already). Now, we get a peek at his long-nurtured ambitious project, as the latest Nosferatu trailer hits the screens.
Initially, the initial trailer was linked to certain editions of “The Bikeriders”. Consequently, it wasn’t unexpected when shaky renditions of the trailer, captured on a spectator’s phone, rapidly circulated online. However, since the first trailer debuted in June, we now have a more comprehensive version available, and it appears quite impressive!
The movie features Bill Skarsgard, Lily-Rose Depp, Nicolas Hoult, Willem Dafoe, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, and Simon McBurney. This film is inspired by the iconic 1922 original directed by F.W. Murnau that served as its inspiration.
This tale is often referred to as a chilling saga centered around an obsessive relationship between a tormented woman in the 19th century Germany and a centuries-old vampire from Transylvania, whose arrival brings unspeakable terror.
“Nosferatu” will open in cinemas on 1st January 2025
