Notch has basically announced he is working on a Minecraft 2 spiritual successor.
The original creator of Minecraft and Mojang has been out of the game for a while.
But now he says he wants to make a Minecraft 2 successor in his own way.
Minecraft 2 Boogaloo
Since creating Minecraft, Notch has been on a creative spree. After crafting the most renowned game in history, selling it for a fortune, and experiencing some lows, he astonished everyone by announcing Minecraft 2!
I might be working on a new game that resembles Minecraft quite a bit, as it seems many are interested in such a project. Regardless of the order or number of games to follow, I’m just happy to be back into game development again.

It seems that Notch himself has stated that he intends to create a new project without violating Microsoft’s rights over the original IP. Although it won’t technically be a direct sequel, according to him, it will essentially serve the same purpose.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve noticed that Notch’s recent posts are reminiscent of a late-night conversationalist outside a convenience store. He’s been sharing opinions about politics, other games, and even hinting at his sword skills, with a subtle wink.
Frankly speaking, many dismissed him as being similar to George Lucas in a negative sense. This individual, who had built an intellectual property (IP) from scratch, became displeased when he sold it; the melancholic tune of a violin echoed.
In addition, he’s secretly developing two games, shrouded in debate. The first one is none other than Minecraft 2, a project he’s very open about. Moreover, there’s another game he’s crafting himself, which resembles the style of Stardew Valley, but with a roguelike twist.
It appears that the individual has rekindled his passion for creating video games, and now he’s enjoying himself immensely while developing a game reminiscent of Minecraft. Despite initially thinking that creating another game like his previous one would be futile, he now finds it enjoyable.
I must stress that it will be almost like a follow-up, but it won’t technically be called Minecraft 2 since Microsoft (owned by Bill Gates) would undoubtedly object to that.
But CaveMake is up for grabs. Notch, give me a call; I have some other bangers.
Midmob Crisis
A while back, Notch – a well-known figure – sold his intellectual property for vast sums to Microsoft. Subsequently, they incorporated it across all platforms. Furthermore, they developed multiple editions tailored for educational and artificial intelligence applications.
Despite the fact that they didn’t include any updates that would encourage players to return for more than a week, it seems that the game lacks recent updates, according to Notch. Even though Microsoft is said to be content with Mojang managing themselves, there appears to be a shortage of update releases.
Nothing much to discuss right now, but guess what just happened with Minecraft 2? They introduced frogs as new creatures, while leaving out any other mobs. Interestingly, they allow fans to vote for which creatures will be added in the next update.
However, it seems there’s no restriction preventing them from incorporating all those mobs. Are you implying they lack the necessary funds for this endeavor?
Wow, coding firefly mobs for the game is quite a challenge, I must say! Could we potentially see such a feature in Minecraft 2?
To add some context, thus far, we only have a word from Notch himself. But remember, this “trust me, bro” comes from a gaming tycoon who’s got plenty of free time to devote to game-making. So, while it’s still a case of “trust me, bro,” the fact that it’s from such a seasoned professional in the field might be reassuring.
