Now GTA 6 has been delayed into 2026, what’s your most hyped game for the rest of 2025? — Weekend Discussion 💬

), so let’s engage in a brief conversation about the most significant news event from this past week.

GTA 6 being delayed.

Behind the evident feelings of dismay, there’s a sense of relief as well. This feeling is shared not only by game studios worldwide, but also by many who began to worry about managing everything on schedule.

I’ll have ample spare time towards the end of the year to devote significant effort to two highly-anticipated games: Borderlands 4 and the upcoming Call of Duty title.

By the end of this year, I’ll find myself with lots of free hours, which I plan on using extensively for the releases of Borderlands 4 and the newest CoD game.

When Borderlands 4 was brought forward in release date, my initial thought was “I wonder if they have an idea about when Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released”, given that the same parent company (Take-Two Interactive) owns both Rockstar Games and 2K, which publishes Borderlands. Now, I’m speculating that they were instructed to do it to avoid clashing with Sony’s Marathon launch.

Without the anticipated arrival of GTA 6 filling up the next year, my gaming schedule has significantly lightened. Curious to hear, what game are you most excited about at the moment? (first person perspective: In light of GTA 6’s absence from my near future, I find myself with a more relaxed gaming schedule. Can’t wait to learn which upcoming game has got you buzzing!)

There are some big titles still to have proper release dates

As a tech enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement! For the first time, we have a tentative launch date for GTA 6, which is undeniably the most anticipated game of the year. Given its massive scale, it’s no wonder that other developers are eager to steer clear of it in an attempt to avoid any potential clash.

Without a doubt, many people don’t find interest in playing it, yet a vast multitude currently does so. The upcoming Call of Duty series can hardly match the influx of gamers that Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to draw at its debut.

For the period spanning late 2025 to early 2026, there’s an open opportunity for developers and publishers to release their upcoming projects without any immediate concerns. This stretch offers a perfect launch pad for some highly anticipated games that currently lack confirmed release dates.

Hollow Knight: Silksong, Call of Duty, The Outer Worlds 2, and Microsoft’s own, Gears of War E-Day.

It’s clear that we who are not privy to what happens within private spaces may be in the dark, but one can only wish for events to settle down and become more manageable sooner, as opposed to dragging out longer.

Without the anticipated release of GTA 6 looming over us anymore, I’m curious about what excites you most in the remainder of this year. What game or other exciting venture are you eagerly awaiting, or rather, what do you hope will finally see a confirmed release date for this year? Let us know below and share your thoughts!
