EXCITING UPDATE! NVIDIA has reduced the cost of their RTX 50 series Founders Edition cards, but only for customers residing in the UK and European Union regions.
The unfortunate truth is that the situation remains unchanged since the launch incident, as the demand for these items far surpasses their availability, much like trying to find a Unicorn dancing the Tango. To date, the supply has yet to catch up with the demand.
Despite the recent decrease in the price of Founders Editions, as mentioned by Videocardz, this seems to be influenced by the fluctuation in the U.S. dollar‘s exchange rate against the British Pound and the Euro.
The new recommended retail prices in the UK are:
- RTX 5070: From £529 (was £539)
- RTX 5080: From £949 (was £979)
- RTX 5090: From £1,889 (was £1,939)
Considering the cost of these graphics cards, it’s not a massive discount, but every penny saved is better than none. And who wouldn’t prefer money in their own pocket over someone else’s leather jacket? Unfortunately, it seems that in the UK and mainland Europe, we often get the shorter end of the stick compared to our counterparts in the U.S.
Additionally, you might observe that there’s no mention of the RTX 5070 Ti. Since there’s no Founders Edition for this specific card, there’s no accompanying discount.
Currently, it’s challenging to be overly enthusiastic regarding the RTX 50 series as many individuals who wish to own one are still finding it difficult to secure one, even after several months have passed since their unveiling at CES.
It’s unfortunate for others, but I’m fortunate to utilize our RTX 5080 Founders Edition at present, and it’s nothing short of amazing. It carries the same awe-inspiring impact that the initial touch of the RTX 4090 had on me, except it fits perfectly inside my PC.
To maximize the potential of their innovative features, it’s crucial for NVIDIA to ramp up production so that more people have the opportunity to purchase these graphics cards.
