At CES 2025, Nvidia has officially introduced its latest lineup of graphics cards – the GeForce RTX 50 series. These new GPUs are powered by Nvidia’s novel Blackwell architecture and show significant advancements compared to their previous-generation equivalents.
The company recently revealed four models of graphics cards in their latest collection: the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070. As stated in Nvidia’s announcement, the new 50-series GPUs boast a double speed increase compared to their predecessors from the 40-series.
The latest top-tier graphics card from Nvidia is the GeForce RTX 5090. It’s equipped with an impressive 32 GB of GDDR7 VRAM and offers a massive memory bandwidth of 1,792 GB/sec. With a staggering 21,760 CUDA cores, 680 fifth-generation Tensor cores, and 170 fourth-generation ray tracing cores, this GPU delivers exceptional gaming performance. Moreover, it excels not only in gaming but also in AI applications, particularly those involving generative AI.
In Nvidia’s latest series, the GeForce RTX 5080 is the second-tier GPU, boasting a powerful 16 GB GDDR7 VRAM and a massive memory bandwidth of 960 GB/sec. This graphic processing unit delivers twice the gaming performance compared to the GeForce RTX 4080, demonstrating its prowess across games like Far Cry 6, Alan Wake 2, and Black Myth: Wukong.
The new GeForce RTX 5070 Ti sits comfortably in the higher mid-tier segment, boasting 16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM and a memory bandwidth of 896 GB/sec. According to Nvidia, this card promises twice the performance as compared to the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti.
Wrapping up with regards to recent GPU unveilings, we have the GeForce RTX 5070, designed specifically for gamers who prefer playing at 1440p resolution. This graphics card boasts a memory capacity of 12 GB GDDR6 and offers an impressive memory bandwidth of 672 GB/sec, which is a significant upgrade from the 504 GB/sec provided by the RTX 4070.
The premium GeForce RTX 5090 retails for $1,999, while its siblings, the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti, are priced at $999 and $749 respectively. Lastly, the most affordable model, the RTX 5070, is available for $549. These high-end GPUs are planned for a staggered release, with the RTX 5080 hitting the market at the end of January, followed by both the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti in February.
