Oasis confirm reunion tour film from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight

The highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour will be the subject of a film, it has been confirmed.

It was announced in August of the previous year that Noel and Liam Gallagher were planning to reunite for a concert tour. The tour is set to kick off in the United Kingdom, followed by performances in North America.

Enthusiasts couldn’t contain their excitement as they had waited years to witness Oasis live in concert, leading to a chaotic rush to secure tickets, with many spending hundreds of pounds to secure their place at one of the performances.

At first glance, it appeared as though the historical tour was exclusive to its attendees. However, with the announcement of a movie produced by Steven Knight (known for his work on Peaky Blinders and A Thousand Blows), this experience is no longer limited to those physically present.

In collaboration for the official Oasis reunion movie, Knight will join forces with directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the same duo responsible for directing the LCD Soundsystem documentary titled “Shut Up and Play the Hits.

As a cinephile, I can’t wait to unravel the mystery surrounding this upcoming movie. At the moment, it’s shrouded in secrecy, leaving us guessing whether it’s going to be a straight-up concert film or an intriguing behind-the-scenes documentary offering fans a sneak peek into the much-anticipated reunion.

Significantly, Liam Gallagher had earlier stated on platform X that Oasis would not be making a documentary about their most recent tour. Moreover, he clarified that if such a project were to materialize, he would not participate in it.

In a brief message, he stated, “I’m performing the shows now.” He added, “Enough talk has been had about this band; let’s start playing music instead of arguing.

He continued by stating through Rolling Stone: “We’ve discussed this nonsense countless times, and people have their varying interpretations. What truly matters is that we’re back, and that’s what counts for me, and I believe it should matter to the genuine supporters of our band as well.

The UK tour for The Oasis begins in Cardiff during July. After that, they’ll play multiple shows in Manchester, London, and Edinburgh. Following these performances, the band will travel to Dublin, Ireland. Then, their North American tour starts with a show in Toronto, Canada.
