Oasis ‘set to reunite for 2025 gigs’ as Liam Gallagher responds to reports

As an old-school Britpop connoisseur who has seen more Oasis concerts than I can count on one hand (and lost several fingers in the process), this news about a possible reunion has me absolutely chuffed to bits! The Gallaghers have always been like my own dysfunctional family, and I’ve missed their electrifying performances something fierce.

Despite the long-standing animosity between Noel and Liam Gallagher that has made an Oasis reunion appear more like a dream than reality, it seems this legendary Britpop group might actually reunite soon.

Based on an article in The Times, it seems the Wonderwall band could potentially stage massive concerts in Manchester and London next summer, marking their first joint performances in more than a decade. Since their last performance as a group, which was at the V Festival in Stafford back in 2009, there has been no sign of them on stage together.

According to the report, both Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium are under consideration as possible locations for a return event. It’s suggested that up to 10 nights might be reserved at the National Stadium.

Although the news hasn’t been officially verified, Liam Gallagher’s latest activities on his platform (previously known as Twitter) have lent it more credibility. In classic Liam Gallagher fashion, he has further stirred up speculation about the matter.

1. In response to a fan who considered Heaton Park an unpleasant location for concerts, he said, “I’ll see you up front, buddy!”, while when another user forecasted the reunion would only last a short time, he retorted: “You have a psychic ability, don’t you? (Implying they were a weird or strange person)”.

Most cryptically, he also posted: “I never did like that word FORMER.”

As Liam made an appearance at the Leeds Festival on August 23rd, his comments followed, hinting there could be truth to the rumors. During his performance, he introduced the song “Half the World Away,” notably written and sung by Noel, by mentioning: “We’ve found ourselves in a rather intriguing predicament.”

It seems that Noel has softened his stance towards his brother in their more recent conversations.

Reflecting on my years spent as a musician, I must admit that Liam’s vocal prowess leaves me in awe. In our recent interview posted on the Oasis YouTube channel, I couldn’t help but heap praise upon him. There are certain songs like “Slide Away,” “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star,” and “Columbia” that I simply cannot replicate with the same energy and emotion as he does. His talent is truly unparalleled in the realm of rock music, and his performances continue to inspire me.

“To be honest, while I could possibly accomplish it, the way he does it just feels different. It’s about his delivery, his tone, and the overall vibe or attitude he conveys. Frankly, I don’t share the same attitude as him.”

Even though they often argue in public, over the past 15 years, their remarks suggest a possible reunion might occur sometime in the future. However, this latest development seems to be the strongest indication yet that a reunion could actually happen.

As for whether it will actually happen? We’d say definitely, maybe.
