As a curious fan, I’d recommend reaching out to Gilgondorin, the proprietor of Silverhome on the Water, if you want to uncover more about this mysterious ghost. Simply chat with him and pick the ‘The Forlorn Watchman’ option to get the details. He’ll share that the Forlorn Watchman can be found at Bawnwatch Camp.
The Forlorn Watchman Walkthrough (Step-by-Step)
As a gamer, I’d say: “To meet the Forlorn Watchman, make your way to Bawnwatch Camp, nestled on the shores of Niben Bay. It’s located southeast of Bravil. Hang out there at night, specifically after 8 PM, and you’ll spot him roaming around the camp. The exact spot is marked for you.
As you draw near to the ghost, follow it as it walks along the seashore heading towards the southeast. Stay close behind until it finishes its walk. In due time, the ghost will halt at the water’s edge and gaze out towards the east. Remain patient, for the ghost will come to you without being prompted and initiate a talk. During this conversation, you’ll discover that his name is Grantham Blakeley, and he requests your help in locating his true form, which can be found at a place called “Mouth of the Panther.
Go back to Gilgondorin and inquire from him concerning the Mouth of the Panther. He’ll note down the spot on your map, as it’s where the spirit appeared to be gazing.
Traverse Niben Bay and head towards the Panther’s Mouth. At that location, you will find the remains of a compact cargo vessel known as the Emma May.
Access the vessel via a gap in its sidewall. Upon entering, you’ll face off against two long-standing spirits. Overpower them to advance further. Proceed towards the initial wooden door straight ahead and peruse the book named ‘Emma May’s Log‘ for insights into the crew’s fate.
Towards the end of this floor, you’ll come across a ladder that ascends to the Captain’s Quarters. Overcome another old spirit residing there and plunder the treasure chest to obtain a Potion of Recovery.
Make your way back up to the Upper Deck first, then search for the Mid Deck entrance at the other end. Fight off the old spirits lurking there too. You’ll find a chest close to some damaged woodwork – it holds a Potion of Dispel and a Feeble Healing Potion inside.
After that, proceed towards the trapdoor situated nearby and go down it to reach the Lower Deck. There, you’ll encounter the spirit of Gable the Traitor. Overcome him and search his remains for a Small Key.
As you reach the farthest point on the Lower Deck, you’ll encounter a skull shackled to a wooden post. Engage with it to free the ghost of Grantham Blakeley, thereby providing him the long-overdue peace he has been seeking as the Forlorn Watchman.
Where to Find The Forlorn Watchman’s Treasure
Search for a scroll tucked away behind the wooden post where Grantham Blakeley’s skeleton is tethered. This proves to be Grantham Blakeley’s map, a hidden treasure map left behind for the player as a prize. Engage with the map to uncover the location of the hidden treasure. The spot will automatically appear on your map, serving as your next quest target.
Head towards the designated spot at Panther River as indicated by the quest marker. Once there, dive beneath the water’s surface and search for a distinct small rock formation with a treasure chest nestled within. Open this chest to collect 460 Gold, a Lesser Soul Gem, an enchanted Mace, along with various pieces of jewelry and gems.
