Oblivion Remastered: Get Volendrung NOW (Easy Location Guide!)

In the game “Oblivion Remastered,” another Daedric Prince calls upon the player for assistance, and this deity, Malacath, is one who should not be ignored. Known as the God of the Orsimer, Malacath views orcs and ogres as his possessions. He becomes particularly agitated when he perceives others using them as slaves, but what angers him more is that they are his and his alone.

In the Oblivion Remastered game, it’s now appropriate for players to find Malacath’s Sanctuary and follow his orders in order to obtain Volendrung – a potent two-handed, blunt weapon with immense crushing power capable of smashing skulls and breaking bones. This Dwemer hammer is imbued with such raw bitterness and strength that it truly represents the embodiment of hate and power.

How to Find Malacath’s Shrine in Oblivion Remastered

Malacath’s Sanctum lies north of Anvil, preceding the Brena River. But, to initiate the mission, gamers need to be at least Level 10. To begin, interact with Shobob gro-Rugdush, who may only engage if your reputation is 50 or higher. You can boost this standing by employing the Persuasion Wheel and focusing on topics he appreciates. Another option is to choose an Orc character, as they naturally favor players of that race.

After finding Malacath’s shrine and reaching the required level, players are now tasked with obtaining an essential item – Troll Fat.

How to Get Troll Fat in Oblivion Remastered

Troll fat, which can be collected from different types of trolls scattered throughout Cyrodiil, is often found on the bodies of slain trolls in the vast Ayleid Ruin called Veyond, located in the northeastern part of Leyawiin. Alternatively, you can buy Troll fat from ingredient vendors once you reach level 9. A convenient vendor to purchase from is The Main Ingredient, situated in the Market District of the Imperial City. Once you acquire a piece of Troll fat, take it to the Malacath Shrine and interact with the altar to offer it as a sacrifice and initiate a quest, as Malacath will speak about it.

How to Free the Ogre Slaves at Lord Drag’s Estate in Oblivion Remastered

Where to Find the Ogre Slaves at Lord Drag’s Estate

Following Malacath’s guidance, make your way southwards along the Gold Coast to reach Lord Drag’s Estate. Inside the manor, near the fields, you’ll have the chance to converse with Lord Drag. If you inquire about the Ogre Slaves and choose the response “I admire your efforts,” you’ll be given the location of these slaves. The Ogre Slaves can be found at Bleak Mine, a brief walk east from Lord Drag’s Estate. For those who dislike lockpicking, there’s a Bleak Mine Key conveniently placed on a table in Lord Drag’s Estate, located on the ground floor.

To keep your horse safe before venturing into Bleak Mine, make sure it’s kept a good distance from Lord Drag’s Estate, since the Ogres there are aggressive towards animals and may try to harm them. You can’t attack the Ogres yourself because doing so will spoil Malacath’s quest by making them hostile.

Make your way eastward towards the desolate Bleak Mine. Inside, you’ll find that the door can be unlocked with a key or picked open using lockpicking skills. Be mindful as you explore, as many guards within will turn hostile due to your unauthorized presence. To liberate the enslaved ogres in Bleak Mine, search for one of the guards and kill them. Upon their demise, retrieve either of the two keys from their body.

  • Tarnished Ogre Cage Key (Opens the cells on the left)
  • Shiny Ogre Cage Key (Opens the cells on the right)

Players should aim to swiftly unlock the cells to turn the Ogres into allies who will then assault the guards. Since the Ogres are permanently hostile towards guards, stealth tactics won’t work in this situation as a peaceful resolution is not an option. After defeating the guards and liberating the ogres, make your way back to Malacath for the reward.

Once players have successfully liberated the Ogres (whether they live or not), they can return to Malacath’s Shrine. Upon conversing with the altar, they will be honored. Following the release of the Orcs, players will be granted the two-handed blunt warhammer known as Volendrung. As a two-handed blunt warhammer, Volendrung boasts considerable strength but swings relatively slowly. Volendrong also possesses intriguing features; it’s an enchanted weapon that comes equipped with these two abilities:

1. The ability to absorb the life force of enemies upon striking them.
2. A chance to stun enemies when hit, making them vulnerable for a brief period.

  • Paralyze on Strike (3 Seconds)
  • Drain Health on Strike (5 Points, 20 Seconds)
