View Urgent ForecastIn this guide, Obsidian Entertainment details the contents of the latest game version, Update 1.4, now live. Highlights of this update include a ‘fear-of-spiders’ mode that allows players to transform colossal spiders into hovering spheres instead.
Not only does it feature mouse and keyboard compatibility for Xbox users, but this allows players to explore the Living Lands with their preferred Xbox accessories. Additionally, the fog of war on the map has been made less dense, making it simpler to reveal its secrets.
Additionally, we have two significant upcoming enhancements scheduled for the summer and autumn seasons, each introducing exciting new elements such as Photo Mode and New Game Plus.
Here’s what was included in the most recent update, as well as what’s coming next:
Avowed update – Spring 2025
- Arachnophobia safe mode
- Mouse and keyboard support for Xbox
- Fog of War improvements
- More gold and crafting materials
- Soul Pods now dispel illusions
- Unique gear improvements
Avowed update – Summer 2025
- Cooking and crafting improvements
- New NPC abilities and behaviors
- New Active and Passive abilities
- New unique weapons and armor
- Custom map markers
Avowed update – Fall 2025
- New Game Plus
- Photo mode
- New weapon type
- Changing appearance in world
- New character presets
- More Godlike feature presets
Beyond these improvements, the Obsidian crew are simultaneously tackling the French translation of the game, along with Korean and Japanese adaptations. Unfortunately, there isn’t a specific timeline as to when these regional releases will be available to gamers.
It all seems fantastic, with the New Game Plus standing out as an exciting addition due to its ability to help locate missed elements as it allows replay prior to reaching the final mission. Just remember, until you embark on that endgame mission, my advice about saving your game file beforehand still holds true.
Have you given Avowed a spin yet? If not, these updates might entice you to give it a go. I really enjoyed the game and would love to see it expand with new story DLC or an expansion pack. What do you think?
At present, Avowed can be found on both Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC platforms. This includes access through Battle.net, Steam, and the Xbox app. Just like other Xbox first-party games, it’s also included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for console users and PC Game Pass for PC gamers.
